D. Elliot Parks, Ph.D.
President and CEO
Dr.
Elliot Parks brings over twenty-five years in biomedical
research, product development, executive management, and
international venture capital experience to the company.
During that time he has had extensive experience in successfully
and repeatedly translating important basic research science
into commercial products. He was the founding CEO of Myelos
Neurosciences a venture-backed, clinical stage biologics
company sold to Savient, a NASDAQ listed firm. Prior to
Myelos, Dr. Parks was the Director of the Johnson &
Johnson Biotechnology Center for ten years, where he was
responsible for guiding several biomedical products through
clinical trials and regulatory approval. Following receipt
of his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology at the University
of Washington in Seattle, Dr. Parks assumed research and
leadership positions at the Scripps Research Institute during
his twelve year tenure there. He also served under the Surgeon
General of the Army at Letterman Army Institute of Research
in the Presidio in San Francisco.

Beth-Ann Coller, Ph.D.
Vice President Research and Development
Dr.
Coller has more than fourteen years of post-doctoral viral
vaccine research and development experience. Dr. Coller
received her Ph.D. in 1993 from the University of Nebraska
Medical Center, Department of Pathology and Medical Microbiology,
where her studies focused on picornaviruses including poliovirus
and Coxsackievirus. She then joined Hawaii Biotech where
her efforts focused on development of flavivirus vaccines
based on recombinant subunit approaches. In 1999, Dr. Coller
joined GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals in Rixensart Belgium
where she led the Preclinical Virology Group, which was
responsible for preclinical studies to support development
of viral vaccines including vaccines against dengue, influenza,
measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, human papilloma virus,
rotavirus, and cytomegalovirus. In addition, Dr. Coller
managed the Dengue Vaccine Project. In September 2004, Dr.
Coller rejoined Hawaii Biotech where she manages the Dengue
Vaccine Project. She is now responsibile
for research and product development for all of our viral
vaccine programs.

David Vandertie, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Vandertie has over twenty-three years of accounting
and management experience with private and public companies,
as well as public accounting, including sixteen years in
the biotechnology industry. He has broad experience in financial
and strategic planning decisions, raising equity capital
via private and public stock offerings, merger and acquisition
activities, and assisting early stage companies with the
growth of their organizations. Since April 2006, Mr. Vandertie
has served as a financial executive consultant. Prior to
that, Mr. Vandertie served as the Chief Financial Officer
for IT&E International Group, Inc., a publicly-traded
contract service organization to the pharmaceutical and
biotech industry, and Althea Technologies, Inc., a biotech
service provider and contract manufacturer. Mr. Vandertie
has also been the Director of Finance and Purchasing at
Torrey Mesa Research Institute, a subsidiary of Syngenta
AG; the Corporate Controller at Quidel Corporation, a manufacturer
of diagnostic test kits; and the Corporate Controller at
The Immune Response Corporation, a biopharmaceutical company
developing therapies in the fields of HIV, autoimmune disease
and gene therapy. Mr. Vandertie is a graduate of the University
of Wisconsin, Whitewater, where he earned a Bachelor of
Business Administration Degree in Accounting.

Richard L. Sherman, J.D.
Vice President, Business Development and General Counsel
Mr.
Sherman has twenty-five years of experience as a licensing
executive, attorney, consultant, and venture capitalist in
the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. As a licensing
executive and Deputy General Counsel in a thirteen year career
at SmithKline-Beckman Corporation, Mr. Sherman participated
as counsel and negotiator in hundreds of international and
domestic transactions; including hostile and friendly acquisitions,
divestitures, joint ventures, limited partnerships, research
and development collaborations, venture capital investments,
joint marketing relationships, distribution arrangements,
and licensing transactions. Mr. Sherman also founded QED Technologies,
Inc., a consulting firm that provides science-based companies
with experienced advice and counsel in developing and implementing
strategies to maximize their business and technology assets.
QED's clients include pharmaceutical, biotechnological, chemical,
diagnostic and medical device firms; universities and independent
research centers; investment groups and funds. QED was purchased
by The Omnicom Group, Inc., a NYSE listed firm.
